Carp fishing- how to catch Carp?

Carp, also known as carp, red fish, etc. Like crucian carp, it is widely distributed in the world. Carp can be found almost wherever there are aquatic life. It is also a major fishing species.

Carp is also called red fish.
If you want to catch carp, you must first understand its living habits, and then use a suitable fishing plan to gain something. Let’s first talk about the living habits of carp.

Living habits:
Carp is a fish that lives in aquatic plants or soft soil at the bottom of the water. It is an omnivorous fish, but it has a special love for sweetness. It likes to dig up the soil in search of food, especially fertile underwater bottoms, places with rocks, rotting plant stems and leaves, and places with animal excrement. In addition, carp also has the characteristics of liking shade and hating light.
The above are the living habits of carp. The following is an introduction to carp fishing techniques in four aspects:
1. Selection of fishing spots
2. Selection of bait
3. Selection of line groups
4. Fishing methods and techniques

Let’s talk about it in detail one by one:
1. Selection of fishing spots:
When fishing for carp, the fishing point should be selected in the carp’s habitat area, feeding area and location with more fish stars. If you catch carp at these fishing spots, you will definitely get a lot of fish.
① Habitat area: Because carp likes shade and hates light, it likes to be in places with dark water, low transparency, and obstacles such as rocks, ridges, dead trees, etc. on the bottom of the water, or where there are buildings, steep banks, etc. near the water. A low-light area brought by green trees.

② Foraging areas: In places with lush aquatic plants, docksides, breeding farms, toilets, on both sides of water inlets, migratory bays of rivers, slow-flowing areas of flowing water, etc., where food is abundant, it is a feeding area for carp.

③ Waters with many fish stars: The characteristic of carp fish stars is that they are flaky, numerous and dense. Whenever you see this kind of fish star on the water, you can conclude that there are carp at the bottom.

2. Selection of bait:
Carp is an omnivorous fish that can eat both meat and vegetables, and has a wide range of diets. Especially likes sweet food. Slightly sour taste followed. Therefore, the taste formula of bait and nest materials should be based on the above characteristics.
First look at the nest materials: Most of the nest materials are plain bait. In terms of its shape, there are three types: powder, block and granular. Powdered nest materials are mainly powders of various grains; block nest materials are mainly various cakes; and granular nest materials are grain grains or granular bait, etc. Among them, powdery nest materials have better effects after being fried. Adding some koji wine, medicinal wine, sesame oil, small medicine, etc. to powdery and granular nest materials will have a better effect of luring fish.

The function of nest material is to attract fish, gather fish and retain fish.
Next, let’s talk about bait: There are mainly two types of bait: meat bait and plain bait. Commonly used meat baits include earthworms, red worms and some small insects. There are three types of plain bait: flour bait, poor bait and granular bait. Noodle bait is made of corn flour and flour as the main ingredients, and is mixed with additives such as koji wine, sesame oil, fish meal, and shrimp meal. Bad bait is the bait mostly used for bomb hooks, so I won’t introduce it here. Granular bait, bean cake grains, corn, diced sweet potatoes, cooked rice grains, etc.

3. Selection of line group:
Because carp are larger in size, rods, lines, and hooks must be selected in a targeted manner. You can use a hard-adjusted fishing rod of more than 4.5 meters; the line group can start with 2.0+1.0; start with a No. 4 Iseni fishhook. The float should match the fishing line and hook model accordingly, and a slightly larger float can be selected. Because the waters generally used for carp fishing are relatively deep. If the float is too small, the weight of the lead sheet will be lighter, and it is easy for the double hooks to not reach the bottom.

4. Fishing methods and techniques:
The methods and techniques of fishing are mainly reflected in two aspects: the timing of lifting the rod and the mastery of fishing techniques.
⑴ Timing of lifting the rod: When carp encounters food, it does not bite immediately. Instead, it first touches it with its head and mouth. If the bait is right, it starts to bite the hook cautiously. The corresponding action of the float is to first float on the line for a few times, then suddenly submerge into the water, and the float is pulled away. Of course, there are also times when it floats sideways. The action of the float is often stronger and more violent than the reaction of crucian carp after biting the hook. Larger carp often remain motionless at the bottom of the water after biting the hook, and when lifting the rod, it feels like the hook is hanging on a tree root. You must stay calm at this time. Slowly slide the fish to the water's edge, and finally use a net to catch the fish.
⑵ Master the fishing method: The fishing method should be flexible and changeable. Fish stars will appear when carp are foraging in the mud, so you can follow the fish stars to fish. There are two main types: tease fishing and wheel fishing.
① Tease fishing: Sometimes you know there are fish here, but they just don’t bite the hook. In this case, you can use tease fishing. That is to gently lift the fishhook by about ten centimeters every three to five minutes, or you can also lift it and move the bait forward, backward, left, and right. The purpose is to make the bait shake to attract the carp's attention and bite the hook.
② Rotation fishing: It means to make several nests in a water area, each nest is about ten meters apart, and then fish in each nest in turn. Each nest should be fished for at least half an hour, and if it is not possible, then change the nest.

The above are some of the methods and techniques we often use when fishing for carp. After mastering the basic fishing techniques and making appropriate adjustments based on this article, we will definitely get good catches. “There are no laws in fishing” means that if you use appropriate fishing techniques at the right time, you will be able to catch good fish!
